IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OFFICIALS

1.     To register with Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA)

·        Go to Internet – www.officials.fhsaa.org/

·        Go to “click here to register as a brand new official.”

·        Follow instructions (Our association is:  Northeast Volleyball Officials Association)

·        New officials should sign up for the online open book test.

·        After you sign up and pay on line, your name will be added to the muster sheet and you will receive your rule/case book(s) and other FHSAA materials at the next meeting.

·        Directions to schools, etc.

3.     Pay dues to association.

4.     Jessica Lundsford Act

·        All officials must have a sexual predator check.

·        If you were fingerprinted prior to July 1, 2007 you will need to be re-finger printed, if you were fingerprinted after July 1, 2007 you will be alright until July 1 2012.  You will need to get fingerprinted every 5 years.

·        Can be fingerprinted by any Board of Education. ** (See #7)

·        Cost is depending on what county you are getting fingerprinted in.  ** (See #7)

·        Call your County Board of Education for appointment.  ** (See #7)

·        Nassau –  1-904-491-9905 (ext. 1243 ?)  Cheryl Wood (Cost - $81.25)  Call for an appointment.

·        St. Johns –  547-7611 Mary Mills – go to www.stjohns.k12.fl.us  and scroll down to Vendor Clearance Jessica Lundsford and click on it.  E-mail Mary and set up an appointment to get fingerprinted (you do not have to prepay).  Cost is $88. If you are fingerprinted in another county go to website and to Vendor Clearance and ask to be put on their clearance list.

·        Take confirmation sheet with you to fingerprinting appointment.

5.     Will be assigned matches through Web:

6.     Attend as many meetings/rule clinics as possible.

7.     New starting 2008 – 09 year for Duval Co.  (If you are registered in any other county, you should call Duval Co. and they will look up your fingerprints from the county that you have been fingerprinted in.)

·        Log in to http://duval.sofn.net to register and set up appointments for fingerprinting.

·        Must have a vendor number.  Our vendor number is CC00305.

·        The initial charge is $97.25,  this includes the badge and fingerprinting fee and storing fingerprints for 5 years.

·        Print out receipt/barcode.

·        Go to location listed online to get fingerprinted.

·        Once you have been fingerprinted and cleared you will get an e-mail stating that you have been cleared.

·        All e-mail notifications will be sent to the e-mail address listed during the information gathering stage of the online process for registering to get an appointment for fingerprinting.
